Skill Set and Expertise
Taylor is knowledgeable in the development and treatment of disordered eating behaviors. She offers support to individuals who may demonstrate known factors of eating disorders (chronic dieting, body image concerns, anxiety, and low self-esteem), with the intent to help them cultivate a healthier relationship with food and their bodies. She strives to create a safe and comfortable environment for clients during sessions and remains sensitive and understanding of client's unique experiences and challenges. She utilizes her ability to empathize and listen to clients in a nonjudgmental manner with the intent to strengthen the therapeutic relationship and encourage open communication.
Treatment Approach
Taylor uses an integrative approach during sessions, which combines techniques and interventions from different types of therapy, thus individualizing clients’ treatment depending on their unique needs. During sessions she incorporates techniques and interventions from person-centered therapy, cognitive behavioral therapy (CBT), dialectical behavioral therapy (DBT), compassion-focused therapy (CFT), strength-based therapy, acceptance and commitment therapy (ACT), and mindfulness-based cognitive therapy (MBCT).
Passion
She is very passionate about advocating for mental health and working with clients to further develop their relationships with themselves. She believes no one should struggle alone regardless of the circumstances they have faced or are currently facing, and she is thankful to be a part of my clients' healing journey.
Personal Hobbies and Characteristics
In her free time, she enjoys spending summer days out on the lake, reading on her Kindle, indulging in one of her many hobbies, and watching horror movies or YouTube videos.
