Skill Set and Expertise

Kohleen is educated on and experienced in trauma counseling, addictions counseling, cognitive behavioral therapies, and other therapies related to the treatment of eating disorders and/or other disordered eating patterns. Counseling topics often include self-worth and self-esteem, body-image, self-efficacy, and overall nourishment of body and mind.

Treatment Approach

Kohleen often includes attachment and Internal Family Systems (IFS) based approaches to counseling by balancing an understanding of here-and-now issues with a reflection on past experience. Her primary goal is to offer clients a safe, accepting, and validating space to begin processing that which holds them back from post traumatic- and/or other therapeutic growth.

Passion

Helping clients develop engaging and holistic self-awareness as well as a compassionate stance toward themselves as an avenue for betterment and joy.

Personal Hobbies and Characteristics

She enjoys knitting, quilting, and cooking, as well as exploring favored coffee shops, farmers markets, and vintage stores. Long-term life goals include building a cute cabin/cottage with her family and enjoying front porch coffee on rainy mornings.
