Skill Set and Expertise
Cheyanne’s skill set includes theoretical facets and practical experiences. During school, Cheyanne participated in research related to the experiences of and treatment approaches for eating disorders. She has worked in private practice with teens and adults presenting with disordered eating, anxiety, depression, trauma, grief/loss, and identity concerns. She is motivated in understanding each individual’s unique experiences and working with them to forge their own path forward. Cheyanne believes in the importance of the therapeutic relationship and maintaining it through empathy, warmth, curiosity, and her characteristic dry humor.
Treatment Approach
Cheyanne’s treatment approach recognizes that clients know themselves best. Grounded in person-centered therapy, she also pulls from strengths- and values- based approaches, mindfulness-based and somatic work, family systems, and Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT). With her eclectic yet educated approach, Cheyanne can gracefully switch gears if a client finds something isn’t working for them.
Passion
Human-to-human, Cheyanne is passionate about walking alongside others in their darkest moments and encouraging them as they find their light. She connects with her clients as they experience the spectrum of emotions, holding space for all the beautiful pieces of them. Her passion lies in the “small” victories - in the knowledge that 3 steps forward and 2 steps back is still 1 step forward. She believes in the inherent worthiness of each person, even if they don’t yet believe it themselves.
Personal Hobbies and Characteristics
Cheyanne’s absolute favorite hobby is trying to read all the books on her “tbr” list. Her Goodreads profile is her version of a fantasy football league.
